Kat Arthur was lead singer of the Los Angeles punk band, Legal Weapon. In this oral history, Arthur discusses her childhood upbringing in Princeton, NJ, her family of origin, schooling, and teenage years. She details her early musical influences, friendships and social life, and how she decided to move to Los Angeles to start a band, against her family’s wishes. Arthur discusses the LA punk scene, her experience as a front woman within that scene, her careers outside of music, personal struggles and achievements.
